Guests
New guest regulations have been in force since 1 July 2023. All guest applications are made via ETHIS and must be approved by the corresponding budget officer. Please contact the responsible budget officer of your chair for an application.
Short-term guest
- Short-term guests receive limited IT services for a very short time (max. 7 days). A typical example for short-term guests are course participants and visitors. For short-term guests, the validity of the ETH user account cannot be extended. Once the validity period has expired, the account will be archived or deleted. The hosts must have an active ETH relationship as lecturers or employees and must set up the short-term guests. Authorizations can be assigned manually as required.

Guest account for former ETH member
For students, lecturers and academic staff, the user account and its services will continue to exist for 180 days after leaving. if the account is needed for a longer period of time, a guest must be requested from the responsible budget officer.
