But what belongs to spam@mailcleaner.net or to phishing@ethz.ch. Often this is not clear.
Properties of phishing (report to phishing@ethz.ch):
- Sender masquerades as company, IT department or something like that
- “Threats” are made, e.g. with the expiration of an account, the discontinuation of a service, etc. or you are asked to activate, extend or confirm your account, etc.
- Links to a fake login page (ETH style, bank website, webmail etc.)
- Impersonation of a superior with a request for urgent transfer or purchase and scanning of prepaid cards such as Apple iTunes or Google Play Shop
Spam messages
- Everything else such as advertising for services, medicines, dubious news, unsolicited newsletters, etc. is SPAM (report to spam@mailcleaner.net).
- Whether an email contains a link (or not) does not say anything about whether it is spam or phishing.
