Ctrl+S is your friend
Dispite of the fact that Office has an auto save feature you should periodicaly press Ctrl+S to save your document. So you always have a quite uptodate version of your file in case you accidentely close it without saving or the sofware runs in an error.
Calculation options at D-GESS
